Because the production of cement tiles is very labour-intensive, they are nowadays mainly manufactured in countries where labour costs are still low. We chose a workshop in Vietnam because of the exceptionally high quality of finish and the correct social conditions in which the workers have to work.They are also guaranteed free of child labour.
Cement tiles are composed of sand, cement and pigmented marble powder. The wet mixture is poured into a mould and pressed under high pressure.They are not fired in a kiln, but harden by drying.
The common formats are 20x20 and 15x15 but smaller or larger is also possible as well as hexagons, oblong formats and so on.
D&G has a standard palette of some 30 colours but custom colours are also possible.All motifs can be made in a colour combination of your choice.
Cement tiles can be placed in almost any room (kitchen, bathroom, hospitality…) provided proper maintenance is carried out.They are perfectly suited for floor heating and can also be installed outdoors under certain conditions.
Tiles in stock can be delivered immediately.Custom orders take 16 weeks on average.
After installation, we recommend treating the tiles with an impregnating agent.Afterwards, simply maintain them with a nourishing soap.

The tiles can be collected from our warehouse or delivered to your door by a transport company.
For the development of his collection of cement tiles, David&Goliath is mainly inspired by the extensive catalogs of 19th century tile factories from Belgium and Northern France. We also regularly ask contemporary designers and artists to develop new models. Customers also regularly ask us to develop their tile.
Placement is best done by double gluing on a flat screed. Cement tiles are uneven in thickness; levelling is done in the adhesive.Cement tiles are installed with a fine joint of 1 to 2 mm.Systematically remove excess tile adhesive.Use pre-made grout for fine grout. Place a stain stopper before grouting.After installation, cover the tiles only with a moisture-permeable protection.
